A Yorkshire Bus Tale

Arriva Yorkshire worked with Airads in September on a flying banner campaign to introduce their new fleet of buses. Part of this involved the production of a video to celebrate the arrival of the new fleet and this has been posted to YouTube for everyone to enjoy!

 

Go Bark in the Park

The New Drapers Academy

Airads was up over Harold Wood in Essex this afternoon to celebrate the opening of the new building at the Drapers Academy. It certainly looks impressive from the air on a fine Indian Summer's afternoon!

A Stella Weekend for Airads

It's been a busy weekend again for Airads, flying between Norfolk and Brighton with a proposal from the pier, a society wedding at Tenterden in Kent and a banner for the RMT Trade Union leader, Bob Crow, at the Burston Strike School rally in Norfolk.

The first banner photo is the proposal from Mark to Louise being picked-up on the way to the pier at Brighton. He called us this morning to let us know it's also in the Brighton Argus newspaper.

"Romantic Mark Harman, 35, from Seaford, decided to surprise partner Louise Coles, 44, with a Saturday morning stroll along the seafront. Shortly before 1pm, he dropped to one knee and told Louise to look above her head. She said: “I was half expecting a proposal but did not know anything about the plane. It was an extremely romantic gesture and certainly brought a tear to my eye.” Here's a photo of the happy couple caught by the local paper:

The third photo, further below, is from the society wedding at Tenterden where it apparently captures Stella McCartney and her husband Alasdair Willis having a chat with the groom and the bride's father. Not that I could make out faces at 1,000 feet.

More Airads excitement next week, with 'Bark in the Park' at Portsmouth and a very special 50th birthday celebration in Westgate on Sea.

Sexy Said Yes

One way of asking a girl to marry you is to be that little bit provocative. Here's one proposal that posed a mystery for the local paper as it headed towards Brighton pier one sunny afternoon.

In fact the lady said 'Yes' adding one more happy couple to Airads' unbroken 100% success record.

Another Day Another Heart

Heart's Above Birmingham

Somewhere. over a misty Birmingham, an early morning breakfast show has been giving away family tickets for a day-out at Alton Towers. here's the first week's flight with DJ, Julian, from the Radio Station's YouTube channel. Today, fog forced us to stay to the south of Birmingham, near Stratford Upon Avon, Bromsgrove and Warwick and I still nurse the hope that one morning, summer will arrive up there!

Glorious Goodwood 2012

Two days of promoting 'Glorious Goodwood' with a flying banner along the sun-soaked beaches between Portsmouth and Brighton on the warmest week of the year. Lots of people on the beaches and the sea, unusually clear!

A June marriage proposal at the romantic Leeds Castle in Kent. Unseasonable weather didn't prevent a romantic marriage proposal for Nurul and Nargis.

P&O Down the Line

I have been struggling with the P&O 175th anniversary extravaganza at Southampton.

Over at the docks, the line of cruise ships, Oceana, Adonia, Azura, Oriana, Aurora, Arcadia and Ventura was certainly impressive, that's if you could actually see them in pretty awful conditions. The Red Arrows cancelled their display but I managed a single pass down the line before running for cover at Lee on Solent airfield. I'm reminded of the quip by Mel Gibson in the film, Air America: "Here at Air America, what's considered psychotic behavior anywhere else is company policy.."

The view down the line of great cruise ships was great but to be honest, you can see I was a little preoccupied with the bad weather that ambushed me when I got there.

Surprise Surprise

Out to Brighton on Monday for one of our popular 'end of the pier' proposal. Ravi proposed to 'Sexy' and she said 'Yes.' How could any girl refuse such a romantic and dramatic gesture?
